Aim

To protect self-coiling electrical extension cables and air hoses in a workshop environment

Requirements

• Robust – they must withstand cables being repeatedly pulled through them at various angles
• Cushioning – they must reduce the shock when a rewinding cable reaches its end
• Easy to install

Results

The buffers were printed in TPU and their locking clips in PLA. This enabled the buffer to flex when impacted and the clip to firmly retain it. Circlip style clips were used to enable the buffers to rotate without coming loose over time and also to facilitate quick installation.
